My ambition to write professionally has been in the back of my mind since the age of 7, when I was given an award in school assembly for a story about animals in the jungle.  I thought it was apparent that my questionable choice of words would be an instant bestseller. Surprisingly not, however.

When my English teacher told me several years later quite firmly that I could make a career as a writer, that was it. That’s what I’ll do.

I currently live in Kent, UK, with my cat, Fox, and dog-child, Dora.
